Digital technologies are fundamentally reshaping markets and organizations globally. This thesis is exploratory research that seeks to explain how large multi-regional and global enterprises determine, prioritize, measure, and manage business value outcomes of digital investments over time. I examine the value construct of digital initiatives in firms from different industries by interviewing various stakeholders. Insights surfaced from this primary research are analyzed in conjunction with the concepts from current literature. Qualitative findings are proposed, and a list of value metrics is presented that can serve as a future reference for firms. A causal loop diagram is proposed to visualize firm capabilities and value dynamics.
