Phrase Particle Exercise 4 Answers

Read each context and answer the questions, supplying the particle that would occur in that context. Use (wa), (ga), (o) or insert Z (zero particle) in case no particle is possible. Assume that each question is asked independently from each other.

Context: You went shopping yesterday with a list of things to buy. However, you only bought a tape, which was on sale. Everything else was expensive.

  1. What did you buy?

    Teepu  o  kaimasita.

  2. When did you buy the tape?

    Kinoo  Z  kaimasita.

  3. Who bought the tape?

    Watasi  ga  kaimasita.

  4. Did you buy everything on the list?

    Iya, teepu  wa  kaimasita kedo...

  5. Iya, zenbu  wa  kaimasen desita.

  6. Was it Mr. Suzuki who bought the tape?

    Iya, watasi  ga  kaimasita. Suzuki-san  wa  kaimasen desita.

  7. Did you buy a book?

    Iya, teepu  o  kaimasita.

    Hon  wa  kaimasen desita.

  8. Did both Mr. Suzuki and you buy a tape?

    Iya, watasi  wa  kaimasita kedo, Suzuki-san  wa  kaimasen desita.

  9. Did you buy both a tape and a book?

    Iya, teepu  wa  kaimasita kedo, hon  wa  kaimasen desita.

  10. Did you go shopping both yesterday and today?

    Iya, kinoo  wa  ikimasita kedo, kyoo  wa  ikimasen desita.

  11. Was everything cheap?

    Iya, teepu  wa  yasukatta desu kedo...

  12. What was on sale?

    Teepu  ga  yasukatta desu.

  13. Were both tapes and books on sale?

    Iya, teepu  wa  yasukatta desu kedo, hon  wa  takakatta desu.

  14. How much money did you spend?

    Tyotto  Z  tukaimasita.

  15. Do you go shopping everyday?

    Iya, kinoo  wa  ikimasita kedo...
